Measures against lead(Pb)free solder and license assent of our lead (Pb)free solder patentsWe think conservation of the environment is very important part more and more for behavior of enterprises and various countries i.e. to develop product which consideration into environmental protection. Lead (Pb) solder has been used approximate 2,000 (two thousands) years ago for adhesive material between different metal and then, currently, use for print board of electronic and/or electric equipment such as industrial equipment, computer, mobile phone, digital camera, etc. However, increasing the environment conscious, people want to decrease content by amount of lead (Pb) as much as possible because of lead (Pb) is affect the environment. Since the WEEE & RoHS instruction [NOTE-1] will effect in 2006, product that use and/or contain lead (Pb) solder will not sale, produce in Europe [NOTE-2]. Along with it, in order to aim at dealing with environmental problems positively at inside and out side of the country, we developed lead (Pb) free solder and we acquire the Sn-Ag-Cu (Tin-Silver-Copper) system lead (Pb) free solder patents in United States, Japan, and Germany. We think this lead (Pb) free solder have a feature such as excellent solderbility and thermal stability and decreasing of the dross (oxidation refuse of Tin) by suppressing oxidation as a result of adding Ni (Nickel) and Ge (Germanium) in to the Sn-Ag-Cu (Tin-Silver-Copper) alloy and the Sn-Bi (Tin-Bismuth) alloy. For your information, these lead (Pb) free solder has been applied in our company. We, Fuji Electric group do not think about use our original composition lead (Pb) free solder in our own company. ![]() We have been consent with many domestic and foreign solder manufactures [NOTE-3] who wishes to have our lead (Pb) free solder patents.[NOTE-4] Also, we hope we would like to have opportunity to help to the environment action of the other enterprises as worldwide for the public through our licensee’s lead (Pb) free solder. Sincerely yours, ![]() [NOTE-1] (1) Lead (Pb) WEEE is shortened from of “Directive of the European Parliament and the Council on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment”.
